Sungro Seeds organized Mega Field Day

New Delhi, 16 Dec. 2012, Sungro Seeds Ltd has organized mega field day from 15th -16th Dec, 2012 on one of its research farm in Janti (Haryana), with participation of farmers, distributors and retailers from various northern, central and western states of the country. The event was honored by presence of Mr. Sandeep Harsh, CEO, Mr Rakesh Sanwal, Asst. Vice President (S&M) and Dr. S.K. Das Gupta Ph.D, General Manager (R&D) - Sungro Seeds Ltd with objectives to impart knowledge to the growers and the channel partners about the products and to understand their needs.

The mega field day provided a platform to around 450-500 participants to share their knowledge and ideas on the present vegetable crop scenario. At the event, Sungro showcased its product portfolio of both new and existing products and the products in pipeline with focus on Brinjal, Cauliflower, Chilli, Cabbage, Radish, and Tomatoes allowing visitors to reinforce their confidence on the products and choose what suits them the best of all.

A team of breeders of different crops interacted with the participants sharing the knowledge on vegetable crops and got direct feedback about the products. All the valued R&D works which makes Sungro Seeds proud to showcase Brinjal and Cauliflower hybrid varities are developed by companys' R&D fellows Mr. Dharmendra Sharma and Dr. Arjun Singh respectively.

Annual Strategy Meet

The Annual Strategy Meet was organized on 14th and 15th May’12 at The Crowne Plaza Hotel, Rohini, New Delhi by Sales and Marketing Department of Sungro Seeds Ltd. The agenda of the meeting was annual sales review for the FY 2011-12 and planning strategies for the current FY 2012-13. The meeting was honoured by presence of Director Mr. Shrish Barwale. The meeting was attended by the team of Sales and Marketing Managers, new Management Trainees, Vegetable Breeders and HOD’s of R&D, Quality Control & Processing, Production, Supply Chain, IT & HR. Mr. Rakesh Sanwal broke the ice by presenting sales review of FY 2011-12. He threw light on the budget of 2012-13, the new initiatives that has been taken in the last FY and the initiatives to be under taken in the current FY. The Director emphasized on four major points to be taken utmost care in his speech i.e. reducing the sales return, accuracy in forecasting, increasing working at farmer level and also shared his vision regarding Sungro as a business house. Director’s speech was followed by cherishing moment for all. The ABM’s were felicitated for their outstanding performance on certain parameters such as budget numbers accomplished, reduced stock return, growth over last year, maximum involvement in promotional activities, receivables. Two ABM’s in each category were awarded with Samsung Duo Mobiles. The same day, the ABMs presented their 2011-12 sales budget achievement, major achievements of the FY and factors that influenced the sales and various other aspects related to sales and collection. They presented their demands to R&D in terms of improvement needed in the current product portfolio and the new product requirements.

The second day of the meet started with a series of presentation of different department heads and their team. Mr. Subhankar Ghosh started with his presentation highlighting the new initiatives taken and to be taken by PMG. This was followed by Mr. Salil Kumar Srivastava’s presentation bringing in focus major issues of supply chain and Mr. I.P. Dubey’s presentation highlighting the new products ready for sale and in pipeline followed by individual presentation of different crop breeders about the current and new hybrids in pipeline – their characters, USPs, strengths, weaknesses and suitable market. Post lunch session was the Planning Workshop session, during which all the attendees of the meeting were divided into six different groups. Each group comprising of seven members was given one topic on which the group presented their views. Mr. Rakesh Sanwal concluded the meeting with a positive note for the year coming ahead.



 



Cricket Match

Sungro Seeds organised grand cricket match between Saha Plant team and Delhi head Office Team on 18.03.12 at Mann Public School Cricket ground in Holumbi, Delhi. Dr. Roopak Jaiswal and Mr. Salil Srivastava were the respective Captains of both teams. The arrangement was grandly organized by HR department supported by team members from different departments. The event had an environment of spirit of fun and enjoyment among all. The function was graced by Shri Shirish R. Barwale, Director Sungro Seeds Limited and employees & their spouses and children. The 16 overs match was won by Saha Plant team and Dr. Roopak Jaiswal was adjudged the Man of the Match for his outstanding performance both in Batting and Bowling. Prizes were distributed to the Winning team, Runner up, Best Batsman, Best Fielder and Best Bowler.



Demo Kits to Farmers

Sungro Seeds felicitated the farmers with the market demo kits for successful completion of the market demos on their field. Kits contained one bag, one T-Shirt, one Sungro Cap, one Sungro Pen and a farmers feedback form. In all, 198 kits were distributed among the farmers nationwide of which 68 in Central Zone, 59 in East Zone, 36 in North Zone, 19 in West Zone and 16 in South Zone. The demo kits were presented to the farmers by the respective ABMs. The farmers were delighted to receive the gift from the company.


Farmer Meeting & Field Day

Sungro Seeds conducted a series of farmer meeting on Chilli hybrids and Gourd Hybrids. On 29th Feb, he conducted a farmer meeting on Gourds at Dalvi Maudi in Dist- Nagpur, attended by a retailer from Narkhed. In the meeting, the ABM discussed about Sponge gourd- Nutan and Ridge gourd- Pallavi. On 10th March, the ABM conducted a general meeting with the farmers at Marda village, Dist- Chandrapur with participation of around 45 farmers. In the meeting, the ABM addressed the farmers about benefits of using Hybrids over OP seeds followed by highlights of USPs of our hybrids in each product category. He concluded the meeting with discussion on Drip Irrigation System- Its benefits, schemes by the govt for drip irrigation installation. On 24th March, he conducted one day jeep campaign on Chilli-Mohini in Village - Dhad, Dist- Buldana followed by a farmer meeting at Village- Junona, Dist- Buldana with participation of 75 farmers. During the campaign and in the meeting, he briefed the farmers on the USP of the product and how it is better than competitor’s products. He also conducted two more farmer meetings on Chilli Hybrids in two different villages. A meeting was on Chilli- Mohini at Village-Asola, Dist- Buldana with participation of around 45 farmers, whereas another meeting was at Village-Gahvankund, Dist- Amravati. The ABM highlighted the USPs of the products and also gave reference of the farmers satisfied with the performance of the hybrids to the group.


 


Mega Field Day

Sungro Seeds Ltd had organized mega field day from 8th -10th Dec, 2011 on one of its research farm in Janti (Haryana), with participation of farmers, distributors and retailers from various states of the country. The event was honored by presence of Mr Shirish Barwale, Director-Sungro Seeds Ltd and the HOD’s with objectives to impart knowledge to the growers and the channel partners about the products and to understand their needs. The mega field day provided a platform to around 300 participants to share their knowledge and ideas on the present vegetable crop scenario. At the event, Sungro showcased its product portfolio of both new and existing products and the products in pipeline with focus on Brinjal, Cauliflower, Chilli, Cabbage, Radish, and Tomatoes allowing visitors to reinforce their confidence on the products and choose what suits them the best of all. A team of breeders of different crops interacted with the participants sharing the knowledge on vegetable crops and got direct feedback about the products. Sungro presented participants a Kit comprising of Product Catalogue, Sungro Cap, Wall Clock and a Laptop bag with Sungro logo on them as a token of appreciation and remembrance. The event is a step towards building a strong brand Image of Sungro in the minds of the end customers and the channel partners.
