Seeds before or after processing, depending upon the requirement, are subjected to rigorous lab tests to ascertain its quality. Physical purity analysis, moisture content, germination check, vigour tests are some of the routine tests done in the laboratory by qualified personnel as per the norms provided by ISTA. Apart from this seed lots are extensively tested for its genetic purity through Grow out tests and electrophoresis. Only those seed lots qualifying the benchmark set by the Ministry of Agriculture through its notification from time to time are used. |
